The Lady Bears didn’t need extra innings this time against rival Truman.
The Chrisman softball team defeated the Patriots 5-1 on October 6.
In the early season, the Bears went to extra innings, but this time the Lady Bears did enough in regulation.
“It is exciting beating Truman both times we played them this year. Taylor Wiskur came up with a big hit in the top of the 7th to seal the win,” coach Lindsey Ramsey said.
It had been five years since the Bears defeated their rival. Until this year.
Wiskur drove in the 2 runs, breaking open a 3-1 game to seal the win.
“I am very proud and excited to beat Truman for the second time this year. We haven’t beat them in all the 4 years I have been here, so to beat them twice is awesome, especially it being my senior year,” senior Kyana Mason said.
The victory marked the final regular season game for Chrisman.
Now the Lady Bears are ready to face the Fort Osage Indians in districts on October 8.
