The William Chrisman boys’ golf team overcame windy conditions to finish on top of the Quadrangular featuring St. Joe Central (201), Truman (211), and Winnetonka (250).
The Bears won with a team score of 199.
Co-Medalist were Chrisman’ Alec McFarland and Carter Wiley from Truman as both shot a 47.
“I was proud of the perseverance the boys showed in very windy conditions today,” coach John Beaman said. They played a course that they were unfamiliar with, that had deep and thick rough. The winds made it difficult to keep the shots in the fairway and the boys were a little down when they finished with scores being higher than they would like. Their spirits were lifted when we added up the totals and came out on top.”
Beaman hopes the Bears will build off the success and fighting through adversity as they continue to wrap up their season.
“I think it is good for the boys to experience some adversity and still see they can win,” he said,
The next competition is Monday at the conference tournament held at Paradise Point.
